Longspear Equatorial Import-Export Co. Ltd
From a vision in the highlands to a diversified enterprise — built with patience, purpose, and deep respect for the land.
Longspear Equatorial Import-Export Co. Ltd began not in a boardroom, but in the highlands of West Pokot and the forests of the Rift Valley. Founded in 2011, the company was conceived around a simple premise: that responsible enterprise must begin with the land.
The original vision was ambitious: acquire degraded farmland, rehabilitate it through sustainable forestry, and build a value chain from timber to finished products. Fifteen years later, that vision has evolved — grown branches it never planned for, and proven itself resilient.
Today Longspear is a diversified enterprise spanning commercial eucalyptus forestry, beekeeping and honey production, beehive manufacturing (Kenya Top Bar specialist), dairy farming, and crop agriculture — all rooted in the same principles of stewardship that guided the first tree planted in 2011.
What started as a forestry company became something larger. The ventures that survived — and the ones that didn't — all shaped what Longspear is today.

We set out to prove that business can restore land, not just extract from it. Fifteen years later, we haven't just proven it — we've built a roadmap.
We plant forests decades before we harvest timber. The land comes first — profit follows.
Every hive is hand-built by skilled craftsmen. Every jar of honey is unfiltered and unpasteurised. Quality is non-negotiable.
We employ local labour, train local beekeepers, build local supply chains. Kenyan enterprise by Kenyans.
Longspear is led by a team whose experience spans agribusiness, energy, international trade, and enterprise development. The board and management reflect the company's belief in local expertise with global standards.
